The advice I would give is to always keep God in your relationship/marriage. It's a '3some' and you can always turn to him. Not just for the tough times but also for ALL the good you will share over the years. Another advice is when you have children some day...have a date-night and still honor the 'in love' part of your relationship. Like I have told many young parents since I have been divorced..'a babysitter is much cheaper than a divorce'. I strongly believe if your father and I took more time for just us, we wouldnt have divorced. Children are much happier with parents who are still adoring their time alone TOGETHER.
During your engagement...the stress of planning your wedding will spill-over at times. This is when you learn much about eachother of desires and wishes and traditions. You are living in your 'good 'ol days' right now!!! Enjoy it and make YOUR memories :)
AND...allow the other person to always do what they love to do. Fishing/hanging out with the girls/boys nights, etc. As much as you will desire the time together...you will also desire the time away. It's OK!!! You will always bring back more excitement, knowledge and memories to share with the other person. Even if you heard a great joke from a friend or co-worker....SHARE it! Be PROUD that your spouse had a great time away from you. This only means they will bring more greatness home to you :)
Who am I to talk for being a divorced person? Well, lets just say there is much stored in this blonde brain of mine. Ha!
